Liberty Public House
Get to know the building!
This beautiful building was originally a movie theatre from the 1930s to the 1970s!
It then sat vacant until the current owner bought it and converted it into the 30+ apartments that sit on top of (and behind) LPH! Below are some of the photos from it's sad state of sitting vacant for over 40 years.

Liberty & Liberation for all.
Alexa & Brittany first bought LPH in November of 2019 (bad timing!). Shortly after buying it, the world closed. While it was definitely an understandable choice to shutter your doors & cry, we weren't established enough to close for even a day. Owning her own space was Alexa's dream. So, they got to it... and Church Hill stepped up to save them. We cranked out a brand new menu, we launched online ordering within a week of closing, and we were exclusively take out from March through October with no small amount of help. Our kitchen manager & personal friend, Austin, buried himself into the work as hard as Alexa. He was just as invested in seeing the business survive. Brittany, who had never had a service industry job, jumped in without a hesitation. Turns out, as most of you who have met her, she's incredible here. We're not sure what she was thinking doing something else. Five people ran the business 6 days a week to keep us here, doing what we love, for the best community.
#LPHRVA
Fast forward to 2024, and we're thriving.
We're best known for Brunch All Day, for being a safe space for our LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC community, and as accepting space for whatever your life looks like right now.
We've leaned into being Church Hill's own Queer Cheers! bar.
